About Shayne

Shayne was born in Moscow, Russia. His biological mom left him at the hospital only leaving behind a letter stating she had no interest in what happened to him. He was placed in an orphanage where he stayed for nine months.

After a stressful flight home, Shayne arrived at his new home on January 31, 2004. Since then, Shayne has been supported by many friends, family, and the community over the years, especially throughout high school. Special moments have been captured and highlighted below. Learn more about Shayne's background and life accomplishments.

Shayne’s Senior Night 2022

Musicians and athletes share numerous similarities. Within a band or team, factors such as politics, skin color, religion, or social status are irrelevant. What truly matters is your ability to play and your willingness to improve alongside others.

This video focuses not on sporting accomplishments but rather on the final moments of a game that was already decided. The last few seconds of the video highlight its significance, showcasing the unwavering support from Shayne's two closest friends, Marob (#4) and Tomir (#11).

Shayne’s Chapel Speech 2020

Shayne speaks to his high school classmates about being autistic and expresses his gratitude for those who have supported and encouraged him.

Shayne’s Chapel Speech 2019

Shayne transferred to a new high school for tenth grade. During the second week of school, students were asked if they would speak in chapel about experiencing Christ-like love. Shayne volunteered to speak about his adoption. The reception Shayne received that day from students and faculty confirmed he was in an environment where he would be encouraged and supported.

Shayne drumming at high school alumni weekend

Shayne's high school guidance counselor took the time to better understand how Shayne processed information.

He also made sure Shayne was given opportunities to show what some one with Autism can do. This included Shayne drumming during alumni weekend.
